Singer song writer - Ms. Sonia Vigo presents her compassionate ballad "Grito del Caguana" commemorating the 2005 take over of the Caguana Ceremonial Center in Utuado, Puerto Rico by the Indigenous communities of Boriken. Singing alongside her sons- Hijos/Gualies at Jayuya's Jornada Indigenous Festival (celebrated every August), Sonia delivers the spoken word Areyto of our ancestral oral traditions. Protesting the continued prejudice against Puerto Rico's indigenous communities and their issues by the Institute of PR Culture officials, the El Grito de Caguna Protest generated international attention to the work of the United Confederation of Taino People (www.uctp.org) and its Boriken Liaison- Mr. Roger Hernandez Jr. Guayakan.
